The National Youth Service Corps is to work with
key stakeholders for the protection of Corps
members during the gubernatorial elections in
Edo and Ondo states.
Director-General of the Scheme, Brigadier
General Suleman Kazaure, said this while
answering questions from newsmen shortly after
addressing Corps members at the NYSC
Permanent Orientation Camp, Iyana Ipaja, Lagos.
Kazaure, who reaffirmed his commitment to the
safety and general welfare of Corps members,
said the Scheme would evolve better strategies
in conjunction with relevant agencies with a view
to ensuring that no harm went the way of any
Corps member during elections.

Kazaure reminded them of the need to use the
platform of the NYSC to promote national unity
and integration in line with the dreams of its

communities, and to contribute to the progress
of such communities through the NYSC

In their separate welcome remarks, the NYSC
Coordinators in Lagos and Ogun States Mr. Cyril
Akhanemhe and Mr. James Afolayan said the
orientation course was progressing smoothly in
their respective camps.
